John Pinto International was established in 1981, by Mr. John Pinto and his wife Edna, with the sole objective of caring for the people of Mumbai in their hour of grief and sorrow. Their dedicated service round the clock has seen them grow to become the largest funeral services provider in India, offering their services in every part of the country. In 1992, they acquired the establishment of M/s Edward Jones, which was at the time, the longest serving funeral services provider in Mumbai, being in service for over 125 years.
Mr. John Pinto, was bestowed the title of the Order of the Member if the British Empire (MBE), by her Majesty the Queen of England, for his excellent services in this field.
Over the past 30 years we have had many firsts.
• We are the only internationally trained professional embalmers in India. Our team of experts have trained in the US and the UK and follow the most advanced techniques in the preservation of Human Remains (embalming).
• We are the only funeral services providers in India who specialise in re- constructive surgery. If your loved one has passed away in an accident, we have a specialised team who works on facial reconstructions, enabling you to have an open viewing at the funeral.
• We have our private mortuaries in major metros in India, so you can be assured that your loved one is kept in a safe and in a sanitised environment while in our care.
• We manufacture our own caskets, coffins, packing cases, metal lining and zinc coffins. We do not rely on external suppliers, thus meeting time lines and keeping costs under control. We pass on this benefit to you, so you can be assured of excellent quality at competitive prices.
• We have laid to rest ex prime ministers, industrialists, business moguls, movie stars and lay people of all religious denominations.
• We took care of 152 of the 164 victims who died in the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
• We're the only funeral services provider in India who are government recognised CHA's and IEC house.
